Premises
As a team we work consistently to maintain an engaging, inviting physical space to allow the children to grow, develop and progress with emerging independence or equally with support. The space encourages the children to engage in self help skills, free choice of activities with their friends.
The physical space of the nursery comprises of;
Reception Area
With a library, our pet guinea pigs Humphrey and Ron, children's coat pegs, notices and information.
Three main play rooms which are defined by their colour;
White room
Has open shelving to promote free choice of activity and a book corner with cushions and sofa/chair seating.
Blue room (sensorial room)
Has a water tray, a sand tray, a sensorial table, an art station and a computer.
Green room (physical play)
Has a home corner, which is often theme related, a piano, dressing up, and a physical activity that changes each week e.g. climbing frame/trampolines/cardboard boxes.
Sensorial room
Used for small groups of children to explore, especially equipped for children with additional needs and a private space for parents or visiting professionals to meet.
Outdoor play area
Great for exploring the seasons and changes in the weather. Self access during main play sessions.
Children's bathroom
Including nappy changing facilities.
Kitchen
Used with the children under adult supervision.
