A typical day

9.00am - 11.45

Main Morning session - Ready to go!
Door open for children to arrive.
Children ‘post’ their names in the box on arrival.

9.15am - 9.30 ‘Registration time’.  We look at our day, choose a helper, celebrate e.g. birthdays or a child’s achievements, talk about our theme, topic and particular activities and reinforce our positive discipline structure and how we can work together as a team.

During the morning session session we have;

  • A supervised, planned activity based on our theme, the children’s individual targets, interests and also an area of development from the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • The children can choose what they would like to do, when and for how long by exploring their nursery space either on their own or with their friends. They can access a focused activity, self access shelf equipment, mark making or art station areas, home corner, physical play or role play and more!

  • Fridays include a trip to the library.
  • The garden is open for exploration and play each session. The children are free to come in and out as they choose.
  • A ‘grazing’ snack and water available all session.
  • Our sensorial room is used during sessions either for smaller groups, working towards individual targets or when the children request to access it.
